Snowshoe trail: from Catheline to Crêt de la Neige

Snow shoes on your feet, set off to discover the famous Crêt de la Neige, culminating point of the Jura offering a spectacular scenery!

You will appreciate the panoramic views of the Mont-Blanc, the Alps and the Lake Geneva basin, nearby Geneva, the Salève, the Ecluse pass, the Hautes-Combes du Jura ... Bear in mind that in the mountains the weather conditions can evolve very quickly. Please do not venture into unknown areas if your mountain experience does not allow you to do so.
Snowshoeing is possible from the village of Lélex via a signposted itinerary; please do not use the ski slopes (+1h30 at the alley/ difficulty ***). From the arrival of the Fierney gondola lift, a marked route links the Catheline (+1h / **).
Part of this itinerary is within the National Nature Reserve of the Haute Chaine du Jura. Please respect the regulations in force and stay on the marked trail.
Wildlife quiet zones are also present from December 15th to June 30th. Access is strictly forbidden. For further information, we suggest you consult the Nature Reserve's website.
From December 15th to June 30th, the Brulât d'en Haut sector is forbidden to any hiking activity.

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step: From the arrival point of the Catheline cable car, follow the yellow markers (the GR 9 path marked out in red and white for the summer) towards the refuge de la Loge. Continue on the "Brillone d'en Bas", then head for "sous le Crêt". Follow the markers (GR9) to the Crêt de la Neige. Enjoy the view, then return the same way.
