Ode to the family legacy

«Ode to Family Heritage» is a FAN ART exhibition that aims to perpetuate the work of the anime created by Studio GHIBLI by subtly merging them with the Japanese Art of Prints of UKIYO-E.

Graduated from Kobe Yamate Women’s Junior College in Japan in oil painting and computer graphics, Hanae BIRO paints and creates works with infinite sensitivity. She has been living in Switzerland since 2013 and has been painting independently since 2018.
Between anchor on paper representing animism and the practice of Japanese Zen or more flamboyant works with epoxy resin (exposed around the winter garden of the Espace Candide en Hors les Murs), she touches us with her poetic universe.
The exhibition «Ode to family heritage» was born following Hanae’s participation in Polymanga-Montreux last year. She had devoted herself to the representation of Japanese anime characters, inspired by her daughters, she decided to create this series of work when she initiated her manga workshop.
