MI TIERRA a painting exhibition by Ligia MOYA

Between the last breath of spring and the first beat of summer, when the light lingers and the air fills with tepid promise, Mi Tierra opens up like an inhabited garden. Its title resonates like a sung memory, an inner land where roots, voices and colors meet. Here, painting becomes passage; between women and flowers, between memory and renewal.

In these works, women are not isolated figures, but a living continuity. From Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Belize and Panama, they appear as guardians of rhythm and memory. Their gestures convey a silent force: weaving culture, watching over life, maintaining the link between past and future.

Alongside them, flowers are not scenery, but parallel voices. Roses, lilies, tulips, gladioli, orange blossoms… They breathe, they whisper. Each petal becomes a language of love, memory, gratitude and discreet strength; a living space where the cycles of the world are reflected. They carry fragrance like a trace, color like an emotion, suspended between the ephemeral and the eternal. Together, they sketch a time in suspense: that fragile threshold where one season fades while another begins to emerge.

The exhibition weaves a dialogue between rootedness and movement. Women cultivate, protect and transmit; flowers blossom, offer themselves and transform. Together, they speak the same truth: life persists – fragile and powerful – in every attentive gesture, in every inhabited color.

In a world too often in a hurry to forget, Mi Tierra gently reminds us that memory is a living force. Taking care – of the earth, of others, of culture – becomes an act of resistance and hope. And like the return of the seasons, there is always a time to blossom again.
