We invite you to visit our neighbours at Terre Valserhône, just a stone’s throw from our beloved Pays de Gex – Monts Jura. So head to the little village of Plagne to see the big picture!

Dinoplagne

The Dinoplagne palaeontological site reveals the tracks left by a dinosaur, a sauropod (you know what we’re talking about, of course). It passed through here 150 million years ago.

Scientists and enthusiasts have worked tirelessly to bring to light the footprints that have been discovered and to expand our knowledge of these mythical beings that are the dinosaurs! For this trail, a record for the number of tracks revealed, tells us much more than we could ever have imagined.

We’ve always learnt about dinosaurs from books, but this time it’s up to us to follow the trail left before our very eyes to realise the impressive reality.

It’s on! Once you’ve bought your tickets online, opt for the virtual reality option – what an experience! And don’t forget to download the Dinoplagne app to unravel the mysteries of life in the Jurassic period.

Welcome to Dinoplagne!

Equipped with trainers and bottles of water, it’s time to set off on an adventure along nature trails to find those famous dinosaur footprints!

Did you know?

In the days of the dinosaurs, Plagne looked like the Bahamas. That’s all we have to say!

On the way back, enjoy a cool picnic in front of the magical Marmites de Géant at Saint-Germain de Joux, where the river La Semine bubbles to life.

Take a 40-minute stroll along the wheel and kettle trail and admire the town’s ancient heritage.
