Are you a keen mountain biker who likes to take your bike out into the forest and hurtle down the trails? Then you’re in for a real treat in the Jura! There are plenty of mountain bike trails in the Jura region, so you can explore the Pays de Gex countryside and stretch your legs at the same time. For example, you can take the MTB 83 – rouge – Autour du Mont – Espace FFC Ain Forestière route from Divonne-les-Bains and ride through the surrounding countryside while enjoying a magnificent view of Mont Blanc.

If you prefer electrically-assisted mountain bikes (VTTAE), opt for the Borne au Lion circuit to discover a major site of the French Resistance. From Mijoux, wander through undergrowth and dolines and admire the Haute Chaîne du Jura.

Looking for a thrill? Take one of the downhill mountain bike trails for a shot of adrenalin. There are blue, red and black trails on the Monts Jura. To get there, take the La Catheline and Fierney cable cars or the Mont Rond Télécombi. Lift fares vary according to the number of ascents you wish to make.
