Via Ferrata of Fort l’Ecluse

The Via Ferrata traverses the steep limestone face of the fort. It traverses more or less steep ledges, interspersed with comfortable ledges and terraces, and ends with a 15 m monkey bridge over the moat. The via ferrata at Fort l'Écluse is relatively accessible, even if it doesn't appear to be suitable for beginners. Access is free, and can be made fairly early in the season due to the low altitude. Remember that it's essential to be equipped with via ferrata gear (harness, helmet, lanyard with two karabiners and shock absorber). If necessary, don't hesitate to add a rope for roped climbing, and carry some gear (lanyards) for resting.
