As a place to live, to access information and to create social links, the media library is now a place of culture in its own right. It has a space of 340 m² that is divided into two distinct sectors, youth and adults.
The George Sand multimedia library, culture and leisure for all!
Designed for all publics, the multimedia library offers users a vast choice of books and documents to borrow. Its collection includes 2,772 CDs, 19,684 books (novels, comics, mangas, documentaries) and 1,561 films, not to mention some 50 magazines. Throughout the year, new titles are offered: authors to discover, books to enjoy, films to share, music to listen to… There’s something for everyone!
Digital technology has not been forgotten: two computer workstations are available free of charge for printing documents. Places equipped with power outlets are available to the public wishing to work on site, with free WiFi access. The media library also offers its subscribers access to Toutapprendre.com, a self-training database featuring courses in languages, highway code, IT, etc.
Throughout the year, the media library offers a rich and varied cultural program: shows for children and toddlers, meetings with authors, creative workshops, storytelling hours, literary cafés… So many activities that not only help you discover the pleasure of reading, but also provide moments of conviviality and sociability!
A partnership between the cities of Geneva and Saint-Genis-Pouilly enables members of the media library to join the libraries of Geneva. In addition, the agreement with the Ain departmental media library also gives readers access to a wider range of collections via a fortnightly shuttle service, as well as to digital self-training and online video resources.
