Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

(1)From Les Mars, just outside the village of Lélex, take the track towards Mijoux. Pass the ‘Au Bon Saucisson’ butcher's shop, where the groomed track runs along both sides of the road.

(2) Shortly afterwards, fork left to start a pleasant descent to Chemin de Murgani.

(3) Cross the path, then continue straight ahead across a field. The descent continues until you reach the banks of the Valserine. The route then follows the river, alternating between peaceful undergrowth, open meadows and forest passages.

(4 ) At a small bridge, turn right and climb slightly to reach the Chemin des Alaniers, in the Septfontaines area.

(5) Cross this road, then continue along the track that runs alongside the fire station. Join the D991 at the end of the village.

(6) Carefully cross the road, passing between two buildings to reach the edge of the forest. Continue up the track, gradually rejoining the starting point at Les Mars.

(7) Complete the loop by following the same route as the outward journey back to the starting point.
