Start: From the Domaine de la Vattay start area, follow the log barriers to the control chalet.
Head for the plateau and enter the forest on a wide snowshoe trail.
About 500 m further on, the trail opens out onto a more open landscape.
Continue along the marked snowshoe trail, then, at the Girantette intersection, turn left to begin the return journey along the other side of the plateau.
The path gradually takes you back to the start of the plateau.
Follow the original path back to the start area.

The La Chouette snowshoe trail is located on the Vattay Nordic ski area, in the heart of the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve. This easy-to-moderate loop takes place entirely on the Vattay plateau, in an open, wooded landscape, ideal for a family outing or a peaceful discovery of nature.
All along the route, specific markers guide you along well-marked paths, with little difference in altitude, but a great feeling of escape. Pretty views of the Dôle, the emblematic summit of the Swiss Jura, reward walkers.
Departure and arrival are from the Domaine de la Vattay, where access is subject to a charge. As any itinerary crossing a protected natural area, it is essential to respect the regulations in force (dogs forbidden, stay on marked paths, no unnecessary noise…).
