Description

Discover a family hike that takes you from Challex to Dardagny, along charming paths lined with vineyards. Pass through vineyards bathed in light and enjoy the tranquillity of the scenery. The route offers views of the Rhône and the Monts Jura. At every stage, between undergrowth and open fields, nature reveals itself in all its splendour, and every season! A charming getaway that combines wine discoveries and wide open spaces.

Getting to the starting point Report a problem

Step 1: Challex

Starting point: Park along the stadium.

Step 2: Intersection of Montbrison Street

In the village, head to Rue de la Mairie and turn left onto Rue Montbrison. Continue straight on Rue des Champs Novat.

Step 3: At the Castle

Leave the village. Take Chemin des Carrés. Follow this path and take the second path on the left. This crosses a field, enters the woods and descends slightly. The Rhône river comes into view. Continue to the mill; the path climbs again and branches off to the left to return to Challex.

Step 4: Plaine Road intersection

Return to Rue du Château and follow it to the intersection with Route de la Plaine. This street gradually climbs back towards the center, passing in front of a fountain. At the intersection with Rue des Fontanettes, turn right. Continue to the end of this street until it joins Route de la Plaine at the village exit. Turn left and join Chemin des Charmilles, which takes you into another country.

Step 5: La Frontière

Crossing into Switzerland: cross the border, walk along the field, then continue straight on Chemin de Brive. This crosses the Charmilles stream before climbing up towards the village of Dardagny.

Step 6: Dardagny

In the village, follow the main road for 150 m. Turn left to reach the vineyards.

Step 7: Bertholier

t the vineyards, turn right onto Chemin Bertolier, then right again onto Chemin Chalamont. Follow signs for Tuilière, pass through the houses and take the first right onto Chemin des Grand Bois. Return to France via Chemin de la Buissonnaz.

Step 8: La Roue

Arrival at the village of Challex: cross Pré Moiron. The path becomes a road that gradually leads to the village. Join Rue de la Mairie to arrive at your starting point.
