A preservation orchard for the conservation and reintroduction of regional heirloom fruit varieties.
Spanning 2.3 hectares, the orchard features a collection of 360 trees, including 140 varieties of apples, 40 varieties of pears, and several varieties of plums. All the trees have been grafted with scions from traditional orchards in the region: Pays de Gex, Michaille, and Valserine.
Guided tours for children, groups of all ages, experts, and enthusiasts are available upon request or during events (“Heritage Days,” “Rendez-vous au verger,” etc.). Visitors can then stroll on their own along the discovery trail, following the markers and reading the explanatory signs in the hall.
Activities, tailored to the season and the audience, are organized by our volunteers.
The varieties are on display for the Tiocan Orchard Festival in early October and remain visible through April.
Enjoy apple juice tastings and sales, subject to availability, year-round (+ apples in season). Watch a 20-minute film about the orchard’s activities throughout the year.
Upon reservation only.
