(1) From the Lélex Tourist Office, follow the yellow markings to the left. Walk past the Grand Crêt building and the ESF chalet, then join the two-way road. Continue for about ten metres, walking alongside a house.
(2) At this point, follow the GR (red and white) trail on the right and descend along the Route du Frenet. Walk past the Chapelon farm, the Louis Marchand chalet and the tennis courts, then cross the Fruitière bridge.
(3) From here, snowshoes will be necessary. Leave the GR just after the bridge and follow the purple markers and yellow markings, continuing straight ahead. The route becomes an uphill path. About 100 metres further on, take the hairpin bend to the right, continue uphill, then take a second hairpin bend. Keep to the left to follow the path. The path runs alongside a house, then continues for about 500 metres to the next crossroads.
(4) Once you reach ‘Au Petit Bal’, it is just over a kilometre to the summit. Take the path uphill on the right. The slope becomes slightly steeper. The path winds its way between the trees, runs alongside low walls and crosses a wooded valley. Continue until you reach the sign for the Truchet viewpoint, located a few metres further on.
(5) At the highest point, there is a breathtaking view of the Valserine valley, the Jura mountains and, below, the village of Lélex. Enjoy the panorama before returning by the same route.
A pleasant round trip walk in the hills above Lélex, on the Haut Jura side. The trail is easy and family-friendly, offering beautiful views of the Haute Chaîne du Jura and the Monts Jura resort.
