Description

The Écureuil snowshoe trail is located on the Vattay Nordic ski area, in the heart of the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve. This easy to moderate loop takes place entirely on the Vattay plateau, in an open, wooded landscape, ideal for a family outing or a peaceful discovery of nature.

All along the route, specific markings guide you along well-trodden paths, with little change in altitude, but a great feeling of escape. Pretty views of the Dôle, the emblematic summit of the Swiss Jura, reward walkers.

The route starts and finishes at the Domaine de la Vattay, where access is subject to a charge. As any itinerary crossing a protected natural area, it is essential to respect the regulations in force (no dogs allowed, stay on marked paths, no unnecessary noise, etc.).
