From Mont Rond to Reculet, via Crêt de la Neige and Colomby de Gex, you’ll discover unspoilt countryside and breathtaking landscapes in the heart of the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve.

The Jura is full of beautiful walks. One of the best-known hikes takes you up to the Crêt de la Neige, for incredible views of the Alps and Mont Blanc. You can also admire the Valserine valley from the Crêt de Chalam, which starts in Forens and takes around 3 hours.

For a fairly easy hike in the Jura, you can take a forest trail such as the Creux de l’Envers, which has a slight ascent of 250m, or head to the belvedere at Le Turet to admire the view over the Pays de Gex and the Alps.

For a hike in the Jura over several days, you can try the GR® Balcon du Léman, which links several of the area’s prestigious peaks, including Crêt de la Neige and Montrond. This hike takes 4 days and covers a total of 58.9km.

You can also take the GR®509 for a 400km walk across the Jura. You can choose to walk the whole route, or just short sections. One thing’s for sure: you’re in for a real treat!
