Theater – Ferdinand
The Wednesday 31 March at 16 a.m00
Théâtre du Bordeau 18 rue de Genève 01630 Saint-Genis-Pouilly
Ferdinand, a lonely old man who is gradually losing his memory, embarks on a fantastical adventure in search of his granddaughter without ever leaving his living room. Through theater, puppetry, and magic, the play poetically explores old age and the power of the imagination.
Ferdinand is losing his mind.
Cut off from the rest of the world, he holds on only thanks to the mailman’s daily visits and the letters he exchanges with his granddaughter, with whom he shares a tender and close bond.
He is losing his memory and his sense of time, and soon the fantastical begins to creep into his daily life. The objects around him seem to be playing tricks on him…
Overcome by a wild imagination, like a gently mad Don Quixote, the old man embarks on a grand journey—a fantastical epic in search of his granddaughter—even as he never leaves his living room.
Blending theater, puppetry, and a touch of magic, this new production aims to delicately explore the twists and turns of frail old age and celebrate the power of the imagination as a refuge and a potential bridge between generations.
