Strange Kind of Women /// Jazz In Fort l'Écluse

The band was imagined and created in 2018 by guitarist and band manager Eliana Cargnelutti. A singer-songwriter, she has several solo albums and international tours to her credit.

The group brings together some of the best musicians on the Italian scene: Ronnie Grace, Paola Zadra, Chiara Cotugno, Margherita Gruden and Eliana Cargnelutti.

They made their Italian debut in 2019. From then on, thanks to the attention of several European managers, the group began performing on international stages, particularly in Europe. In Austria, they even had the opportunity to collaborate with Ian Paice, Deep Purple’s legendary drummer, at a concert in Graz. In the spring of 2020, Paice also shared a video expressing his admiration for the band, thus enshrining them on the international rock scene.

The Strange Kind of Women (SKoW) aims to faithfully recreate the magic of the legendary British band’s concerts, with attention to detail and a focus on the iconic 70s sound.

Since 2024, thanks to the collaboration with Valter Sivilotti (renowned European composer and arranger) and his artistic direction, SKOW has been reviving the fusion of rock and symphonic music. This tradition was initiated by Deep Purple, alongside the Beatles, Frank Zappa, Uriah Heep and Italy’s New Trolls with their legendary Concerto Grosso.

Building on this experience, the five Italian musicians now aspire to present their orchestral show, allowing audiences to relive musical moments blending the instrumental virtuosity of classic rock with the grandeur of the European symphonic tradition.
