Salle des fêtes 01220 Grilly
Theatre workshop for children promoting social inclusion.
The Smile Art Comédie Association is a non-profit organisation whose ambition is to make theatre a powerful tool for inclusion, personal development and social transformation. Its commitment is based on a strong conviction: everyone deserves a space to express themselves, create, discover themselves and be fully recognised, regardless of their age, background or situation.
The association takes concrete action to bring children and people with disabilities together around meaningful theatre projects that promote self-esteem, communication, creativity and living together.
This grassroots work is deeply rooted in the values of diversity, equal opportunities and solidarity. The objective is clear: to break down social and cultural barriers and make theatre a common language where everyone can find their place.
Behind this dynamic is a committed team, led by Soraya Genin, founder and president of the association. A theatre practitioner and trained special needs teacher, she has dedicated her professional and personal life to supporting vulnerable groups through artistic expression. She has been passionately and determinedly involved in the Smile Art Comédie project for many years. Today, she is fully committed to this inclusive mission, in line with her human and social values.
Last year, the association enjoyed great success, bringing together diverse audiences through workshops, creative projects and live performances. Building on this experience, she returns this year with ambitious new initiatives:
The establishment of an intergenerational partnership with a retirement home in the Pays de Gex, to create an artistic dialogue between generations through theatre.
The extension of the project internationally, with cross-border cooperation in Switzerland, in partnership with the Lavigny institution, to promote the values of inclusion at a regional level.
And from the start of the new school year, the launch of monthly artistic residencies in Grilly, aimed at creating an inclusive theatre company that will be able to share its creations on stage in different towns in the region… and beyond.
To bring these projects to life, everyone’s support is essential. Moral, logistical and human support… but also financial support, because these actions, however humane they may be, need resources to exist.
Smile Art Comédie invites everyone to join this wonderful artistic and solidarity-based adventure, to make theatre a catalyst for social connection, shared emotion and positive transformation.
Because inclusion is not just a word, but a reality to be built. Because art, when it is open to all, has the power to change perceptions and bring people together.
