Show: The English Lover

The Tuesday 25 November at 19 a.m30
Théâtre et Cinéma Le Bordeau 18 rue de Genève 01630 Saint-Genis-Pouilly
Claire Lannes killed her deaf and mute cousin, Marie-Thérèse. Why?
Three voices attempt to understand:
that of the Interrogator, that of Pierre Lannes, and that of Claire Lannes. The interrogator is the conduit, the one who, like Marguerite Duras herself, ‘seeks to discover who this woman is.’ He questions without ever judging, entirely focused on understanding, with an almost religious conviction. He first questions Pierre, Claire’s husband, then Claire herself, played by Sandrine Bonnaire, who is both opaque and transparent. Claire is willing to cooperate. She too is trying to understand. But she cannot explain.

What the press says:
“It’s chilling and dizzying, exploring the torments of the human soul. It’s also an opportunity to see the all-too-rare Sandrine Bonnaire light up the stage. “
