As part of Jazz In Fort l'Écluse, come and swing with this gypsy jazz group for one evening.
95 years after its first concert, the Quintette du Hot Club de France created by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli rises from the ashes.
Led by Duved Dunayevsky on guitar and Daniel Garlitsky on violin, this new Quintette demonstrates astonishing skill. The two musicians are committed to reviving the sound and aesthetics of their illustrious predecessors. With their exceptional talents, they explore their heroes’ repertoire with the utmost discipline. Their ambition is to carry the torch both in France and abroad, striving for authenticity in the execution of this aesthetic.
This new Quintette du Hot Club de France will feature classic Reinhardt and Grappelli tunes, as well as a selection of original compositions and standards from the 1910s to the 1940s never recorded by their elders, not to mention a few swing adaptations of works from the classical repertoire.
The musicians:
Duved Dunayevsky: lead guitar; Daniel Garlitsky: violin; Pierre Richeux: guitar; Andrea Soria: guitar; Scott Koehler: double bass
