Jazz In Fort l'Ecluse : Toss'n Turn
The Saturday 02 August at 20 a.m00
Fort l'Écluse Route de Genève 01200 Léaz
Toss'n Turn could have been a simple Irish music group…
This was without counting on the intense ferment and eternal dissatisfaction of its artists, who very quickly ejected the group from the limits of the traditionally correct. Samplers, harmonisers, virtualisers, didgeridoo, tenor violin and percussion rub shoulders with uilleann pipes, cistre and bodhran. The musicians revisit the repertoire, injecting a highly personal touch and unashamedly embracing their taste for risk and overkill. Two Irish tap dancers free themselves from the codes imposed by competitions and large ensembles to make way for complicity and sensuality in their bouncy, rhythmic and aerial choreography. Meticulously written and performed to the millimetre. As the show progresses, the atmosphere heats up, the machine goes into overdrive and the audience finds itself propelled into a whirlwind of sound and vision at a furious pace, an indomitable Irish machine!
An evening of live music in the courtyard of the Fort: the intensity of jazz, the strength of the venue, and an atmosphere like nowhere else.
Musicians: Jacques Tribuiani, vocals, cistre, Irish flute, didgeridoo, percussion; François Breugnot, fiddles, sampling; Julien Desailly, uilleann, pipes, bodhra; Mary O’Neg, Irish tap; Erwan Mouly, Irish tap.
