Composer-touch-to-everything, immense creator of melodies and cinematographic themes, prodigiously inventive arranger, Michel Legrand leaves a gigantic work.
Composer-touch-to-everything, immense creator of melodies and cinematographic themes, prodigiously inventive arranger, Michel Legrand leaves a gigantic work.
His tubes, which have become jazz standards for many, are only the emerging part of a continent of music!
Christine Python and Nicolas Nadar have come to his work in very different ways, sharing for years a growing enthusiasm for his inexhaustible repertoire. From this regular dialogue, the desire for a common project was born, building around Legrand’s songs an exploration in two voices of the torments of love, central theme of all his work. From great classics to unknown nuggets, from cinematic romances to crazy fantasies, this touching singing tour takes the bet of sobriety.
Far from the big bands and Hollywood violins that willingly dress the melodies of Michel Legrand, the duo opts
for sober and acoustic arrangements, highlighting the composer’s mad inventiveness and the malice of the texts addressed. An intimate and intense journey into the heart of the soul-sound of the great Legrand.
Musicians: Christine Python, voice; Nicolas Nadar, voice; Victor Darnon, violin; Denis Croisonnier, accordion; Ivor Malherbe, double bass.
