New Orleans-based trumpeter Ashlin Parker is currently a member of the group Dumpstaphunk. He also leads Trumpet Mafia, a group of creative excellence blending traditional jazz and hip-hop that won Best of the Beat 2017 from the renowned OffBeat magazine. Artists Ashlin Parker has accompanied include the Ellis Marsalis Quintet from 2014 to 2020 and the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO), which won the 2009 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. He has also played alongside Cyrille Aimée, Maceo Parker, Rafael Saadiq, Aretha Franklin, Dr. John and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Ashlin Parker teaches at Tulane University, and since January 2011 has directed the jazz trumpet studio in the music department at the University of New Orleans. Ashlin will be performing at Jazz In Fort L’Ecluse accompanied by an ‘All Star’ line-up of musicians from Italy and Switzerland.
