Film Screening and Discussion
The Sunday 08 November at 14 a.m00
Salle René Lavergne 252 rue de Béjoud 01210 Ornex
The town of Ornex invites you to a film screening and discussion of the movie *One Day, You’ll Grow Old…* at the René-Lavergne Theater. This free screening offers a thoughtful exploration of the issues of aging and isolation.
Directed by Édouard Carrion, this 1.5-hour film was created to raise awareness about the isolation of older adults and encourage dialogue. Its screenplay is based in part on interviews with isolated older adults and the professionals who support them.
The film follows Suzanne, 81, who has been living alone since her husband’s death and is gradually withdrawing into herself. At the same time, Jean-Daniel, a senior executive nearing retirement, discovers the world of elder care with some preconceived notions. Two very different life paths that chance will eventually bring together.
Following the film, the audience will be invited to discuss aging, isolation, and maintaining social connections.
The discussion will be moderated by Laurence Otzenberger, a nursing manager; Nathalie Sepierre, city council member in charge of social affairs; Laetitia Douilliez, head of the Solidarity–Health–Housing Department; Marie-Laure Cinquin, president of the “Loisirs d’Automne” seniors’ club; and Alexandra Merle, activities coordinator at the Le Clos Chevalier nursing home.
