A Conversation with Ananda Devi
The Friday 13 November at 18 a.m30
Librairie café Recto Verso 208 route de divonne 01210 Versonnex
Ananda Devi will be at the Recto Verso bookstore and café in Versonnex to present her book *Chronicle of a Lost Kingdom* (Grasset). The event will be followed by a book signing and a cocktail reception!
Ananda Devi, on her novel (a finalist for numerous awards): “I wanted a vision of Mauritius that transcends its borders, including that past which supposedly begins only with colonization—that is, a birth steeped in violence. What if there was a ‘before’? What if a few extraordinary people, living in a tiny hamlet at the very southern tip of the island, managed not only to escape this deadly trap but also to change the course of events? The course of history? That is the question at the heart of the book."
