Church

The first sanctuaries built here date back to Merovingian times. Over the centuries, various buildings were erected. In the 12th century, the abbey of Payerne became the owner of the church, which underwent major renovations and was placed under the protection of the Virgin Mary. Over the following centuries, maintenance of the church and cemetery was the responsibility of the parishioners. After the establishment of Protestant worship in 1536, the church fell into disrepair. In the early 17th century, St. François de Sales took possession of the church and returned the sanctuary to Catholic worship. It wasn't until the early 18th century that the church was restored, thanks in no small part to the efforts of the parishioners. Today's church, which historians refer to as the 5th church, juxtaposes elements inherited from the medieval past with much more recent features. The last restoration took place in 1973.
