The Etang de Cessy, a tourist fishpond, is owned by the commune of Cessy. It is managed by the Amicale des Pêcheurs de l’Etang de Cessy. Covering an area of 2.7 hectares, its average depth is 2.6 meters. The fish caught are mainly carp, tench, roach, catfish and, to a lesser extent, pike and perch. There is a place for people with reduced mobility.
Fishing is permitted from sunrise to sunset, from the first Saturday in April to the third Sunday in November. To fish in the pond, you need an Amicale membership card. As the rules of fishing are specific, anglers must be in possession of the rules specific to the pond. The pond is not reciprocated.

To fish in the Cessy pond: €10 for 1 rod, €20 for 2 rods.

To fish in the Valserine: permits are available from the three tourist information offices in Gex, Mijoux and Lélex.
