The Thursday 05 November at 18 a.m30

Église Notre-Dame et Saint-André 1 rue de Gex 01210 Ferney-Voltaire

Come discover the Church of Notre-Dame and Saint-André as part of its 200th-anniversary celebrations!

The Notre-Dame and Saint-André Parish Church is an exceptional example of 19th-century Neoclassical religious architecture in France and the only building of its kind in the Ain department.
The church stands out for its unadorned architecture, the Ionic style of its pediment and columns, and the distinctive feature of a rectangular bell tower built on a terrace.

To celebrate its 200th anniversary, don’t miss these events:

– Thursday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m., at the Church of Notre-Dame and Saint-André.
From the castle courtyard to the heart of the town: 800 years of history of Ferney’s churches. Lecture by François-Xavier Verger, followed by a reception.

– Friday, November 6, at 12:00 p.m., meet in Abbé Boisson Park (park entrance next to the municipal police station).
Guided tour of the Church of Notre-Dame and Saint-André.
Corinne Millier, a certified tour guide, will present a brief history of the church’s construction to provide context for the era and an architectural analysis of this neoclassical building.
Architect François Clermont will speak about the recent restoration of the bell tower.

– Sunday, November 8, at 4:30 p.m., at the Notre-Dame and Saint-André Church.
Stand-up. The mixed choir of the Ferney-Voltaire Conservatory will present a program blending jazz, gospel, and popular songs, accompanied on piano by Maëlle Azzoug and conducted by Martial Renard.
