Rouffy bridge
Located between Chézery and Lélex, this is one of the oldest arched bridges on the Valserine. Restored in 2020, this charming dry-stone bridge provided access to the farms on the right bank, in an area known as Côte de Rouffy.
The commune of Lélex, with the support of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, has undertaken the restoration of the Rouffy bridge with clearly defined objectives: to preserve the landscape and heritage value of this ancient structure, while ensuring the protection of biodiversity. The work was carried out with great care, preserving the interstices between the stones, which act as refuges for bats, amphibians and other discreet but essential species. This exemplary approach combines heritage, nature and respect for the environment, within the framework of the regulations of the Haute Chaîne du Jura Nature Reserve.
