Napoléon Fountain
The "Napoleon Fountain" is located on the road from Gex to the Col de la Faucille, in one of the numerous turns of the road. Its name comes from the fact that it was built at the very begining of Napoleon's reign in 1805.
The French Emperor Napoléon crossed the Alps, but not the Jura. That is why a prefect thought about naming this fountain after the Emperor. The water is very fresh and drinkable. That is why many cyclists make a pause here to fill their flask. There is very little space to park.
