La Boussole: Summer Stopover

"L'Escale estivale" is a fun event organized by La Boussole, in partnership with local organizations and stakeholders. For five afternoons, Abbé Boisson Park will host free activities focused on the environment, sustainable development, family fun, theater, sports, and creativity.

Throughout the week from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.:
– SOS Habits with La Ressourcerie: Bring your favorite clothes and learn how to repair or customize them to give them a new lease on life. Available: a sewing machine, a small selection of sewing supplies, and advice.
– School Swap with La Boussole: bring items, swap them, and leave with useful school supplies (notebooks, folders, pencil cases… in good condition!)
– Challenges: take on fun challenges with friends or family.
– Creative Space: let your creativity run wild.
– Cooperative game: Put together a collaborative puzzle and take on the challenge together.
– Chill zone: A quiet space to relax, chat, and take a breather.
– Surprise sports workshop (5:00–6:00 p.m.), for ages 6 and up.

Monday, August 24:
– 2:00–4:30 p.m.: Painting workshop led by volunteers from the painting workshop: bring your own supplies and come paint outdoors.
– 2:00–7:00 p.m.: Games and an escape game hosted by Sivalor: exploration, hands-on activities, problem-solving, and puzzles await. Mission: Zero Waste! Ages 6 and up.
– 2:00 PM–7:00 PM: Bushcraft and survival workshop with Matthieu Gevertz. Take on fun challenges to discover survival techniques: identifying edible plants, filtering water, or starting a fire without matches or lighters.

Tuesday, August 25:
– 2:00 PM–7:00 PM: Theater workshop with the Compagnie Thalie: take the stage! Costumes, scripts… you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look!
– 2:00–7:00 p.m.: Games and an escape game by Sivalor: searching, hands-on activities, problem-solving, and puzzles await. Mission: zero waste! Ages 6 and up.
– 2:00–7:00 p.m.: Bushcraft and survival workshop with Matthieu Gevertz. Take on fun challenges to learn survival techniques: identifying edible plants, filtering water, or starting a fire without matches or lighters.
– 2:30–3:30 p.m.: Fire department demonstration. Experience a firefighting drill with the firefighters.
– 5:30–7:00 p.m.: “Plant Mural” workshop by Les Jardins de Voltaire: a collaborative creation using plant-based inks and leaf prints.

Wednesday, August 26:
– 2:00–4:30 p.m.: Chess with the Amicale. Chess: continuous simultaneous games. Come meet a club player, test your skills, and enjoy a friendly introduction to chess.
– 2:30 PM–8:30 PM: Smoothie Bike by Sivalor: Use the power of your legs to make a delicious smoothie with overripe fruit! A fun activity to reduce food waste.
– 7:00 PM–8:30 PM: Giant picnic: Bring your own meal, find a spot, and enjoy a friendly get-together.

Thursday, August 27:
– 2:00 PM–7:00 PM: Chess with the Amicale. Chess: continuous simultaneous games. Come meet a club player, test your skills, and enjoy a friendly introduction to chess.
– 2:00 PM–7:00 PM: Bushcraft and survival workshop with Matthieu Gevertz. Take on fun challenges to discover survival techniques: identifying edible plants, filtering water, or starting a fire without matches or lighters.
– 2:30–3:30 p.m.: Fire department demonstration: experience a firefighting drill with the firefighters.
– 5:30–7:00 p.m.: “Reading the Living Landscape” by Les Jardins de Voltaire: a sensory walk combining the discovery of local wild plants, interpretation of the urban landscape, and an introduction to bioindicator plants.

Friday, August 28:
– 2:00–4:30 p.m.: Storytime hosted by the Le Châtelard Media Library: storytime and workshop centered on animals. Family-friendly event. For ages 5 and up.
– 2:00 PM–7:00 PM: Party games hosted by Les DARX: games for everyone, from grandchildren to grandparents, including teens and adults.
– 3:00–7:00 p.m.: Mölkky and Breton palets tournament hosted by La Boussole: team tournament. On-site registration until Friday at 3:00 p.m. Ages 3 and up.
– Starting at 7:00 PM: Les PourKoaPas performance: they rummaged through our trash… and turned it into a show! Les PourKoaPas give forgotten objects a second life and your trash a new mission: to make noise (but beautiful noise!).
