FAMILLE BERRY is a family-owned beekeeping business organized as a GAEC and located in the heart of the Haut Jura Regional Nature Park, in the Valserine Valley, at 01410 LELEX.
We practice transhumance to diversify our production and take the utmost care in selecting our locations to ensure perfectly natural honey and the good health of our bees.
Our hives overwinter in the Pays de Gex plain, where we harvest spring honey in late April, before moving them to the Suran Valley and the Saône Valley to harvest acacia honey.
Afterward, most of the colonies return to the Haut Jura Park to produce mountain wildflower and fir honey.
Forest honey is produced during the summer in the foothills of the Jura Mountains.
In early June, some of the hives are moved to the Haut Beaujolais region for the chestnut blossom season, before the final transhumance to the Baronnies in Drôme Provençale to harvest lavender honey.
We produce 7 different types of honey, which we package in 250g, 500g, and 1kg glass jars.
Our company also specializes in raising queen bees and swarms.
Our entire production is bottled and sold in semi-wholesale quantities for resale in local grocery stores (Valserine Valley and Haut Jura Plateau) and supermarkets (Pays de Gex and Jura) in the local products section.
We are beekeepers who harvest our own honey, which means we manage the entire production process—from raising bees to packaging, including transhumance, harvesting, and extraction; as a result, we can guarantee full traceability of our honeys.
We distribute our products through short supply chains to maximize the value of our products and minimize our company’s environmental impact.
