Coupe Genevoise: a popular orienteering race open to everyone, from CERN and beyond, athletes and families, runners and walkers, children and adults! On your marks, get set!
The Coupe Genevoise comprises a dozen races in different forests in the Geneva area, organized in collaboration with other orienteering clubs in Switzerland and neighbouring France. Each race features 5 different courses:
– 2 easy courses (short and medium), with markers located exclusively on or near paths and tracks. These courses are designed for beginners who are just learning to read a map.
– 3 technical courses (short, medium and long), which have in common that the paths between posts rarely use paths or trails. Map-reading and compass skills are essential for success on these routes.
Registrations can be made either on the CERN orienteering club website until Thursday June 11 at 3:00 p.m. (https://club-orientation-cern-geneve.ch/calendrier), or on site (just turn up at the start of the event between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.).
A precise map is provided and compasses are on loan.
