National Union of Mountain Guides
Exploring the mountains with a mountain guide isn’t just a matter of ‘putting one foot in front of the other’: it’s about enjoying a genuine experience and discovering the mountains in a whole new way!
The SNAM brings together more than 60 passionate Mountain Guides (AEM) in the Jura mountains spanning the departments of Ain, Jura and Doubs.
Although often overlooked, Mountain Guides are the best guides for exploring this rich, sometimes wild and always vibrant region.
Despite their apparent accessibility, the Jura mountains remain a sometimes demanding environment, requiring knowledge of the mountainous terrain.
With the growth of tourism and the increasing variety of activities on offer, being guided by a professional ensures you receive all the necessary information to enjoy your time and minimise your impact.
They lead and support a range of outdoor activities, including snowshoeing, hiking, trail running, Nordic walking, canyoning and mountain biking, tailoring their expertise to the seasons, the terrain and the participants.
