Object theatre: Viva!
The Friday 29 May at 20 a.m30
Théâtre de la Comédie 33 Grand'Rue 01210 Ferney-Voltaire
“Fifty years ago, in a small village in Castile, Pepe, my grandfather, killed Maria, my grandmother. I only found out many years later, almost by chance.”
VIVA! is the story of a femicide committed in the midst of a dictatorship, in the wake of the Spanish Civil War. The story of a societal and family taboo.
On stage, a desk.
On the desk, objects.
Paper, a stapler, a roll of tape, pencils and a pencil sharpener… will set about reconstructing history.
Without ever forgetting the redemptive power of humour, VIVA! explores the collective responsibility embedded in individual actions, and a society’s capacity to heal and transform itself.
A performance as part of the cultural season in the land of Voltaire.
