A crossroads, an unlikely encounter between characters who have come to seek the Patriarch’s recipe for happiness or bliss. Poets and philosophers, abbots and Grand Turks, libertines and virtuous souls transform the venue into a burlesque cabaret of free thinkers for a good hour, singing of desire and love, friendship and freedom, to mock misfortune, morality and convention. Through the mirror of the Age of Enlightenment, they question our ability to balance the ingredients that lead to happiness today…
