The enthusiasts at the ‘histothèque’ invite us to take a moment to read about historical events, with the theme ‘In the 19th century, the Congress of Vienna, Europe after Napoleon’.
The French Revolution, through a contagious effect and reaction, led to more than 20 years of war, culminating in Waterloo with the defeat of the French armies. In Vienna, figures from the Ancien Régime engaged in dialogue with new personalities to draft the treaty that would bring peace to a Europe weary of incessant warfare. The Congress of Vienna ushered in an era of peace. But were the voices of the people heard in all this?"
