Antigel Festival: Karaodance

Written collectively, Genre ! is a participatory show that raises awareness about gender issues and sexism. It was born out of the desire of Les Mille Printemps to continue their research into the boundaries between fiction and documentary, awareness-raising intervention and performance.
“We wrote and filmed three socially conscious comedies, three fictional stories (Mon Olympe, Yourte and Biques). We saw the power of fiction and representation on reality, and the audience’s need to escape in order to imagine a fairer world. We almost always combine these three shows with meetings, debates and discussions with the audience.
During these exchanges, we shake up people’s positions. It’s up to them to tell their stories and, when space allows, to tell their own stories . Genre! brings these two distinct moments together and turns them into a single instant. The words pass back and forth between the actors and the audience. They come and go between reality and fiction. They travel between the intimate and the political.
